All things considered, there’s one thing that we can all agree on: it’s time for something new. Welcome to theOdd World, where things happen.

Odd World Music, in the shape of Ocean Grove’s debut album The Rhapsody Tapes, is a proudly invented genre that describes what happens when frontman Luke Holmes, guitarists Jimmy Hall and Matt Henley, bassist Dale Tanner, drummer / producer genius Sam Bassal and studio member Running Touch put their heads and hearts together.

The Rhapsody Tapes take us on a breathless trip through a 90s nostalgia that visits the best of the Beastie Boys, Silverchair and Korn. Written, recorded and produced entirely by the band in their drummer/producerSam Bassal’s bedroom (who is just 19 years old). Kerrang! has called an "intriguingly non-conformist debut" while Hysteria Magazine gave it a flawless 5 star rating, calling it "one of the most amazing feats in Australian music". Rock Sound declared "you haven't heard anything like this", and the listeners of triple

j agreed as The Rhapsody Tapes landed Feature Album of the Week ahead of release and was dubbed "one of the first great heavy records of 2017" by the station.

Soon after release, Ocean Grove set off on their hugely successful maiden voyage to Europe where they tore apart stages on Slam Dunk Festival in the UK, slayed audiences with Australian label mates Beartooth and even sold out their own headline show in London before they even boarded the plane in Melbourne. Upon their return home, the band made their debut appearance at Splendour in the Grass as well then went on to play a wave of sold out shows around the country on their album headline tour.
